What Drives Us

The story of what inspired us to become a quality Rattery began in 2010, first as pet owners, and then, eventually, as a rescue. We adore rats, we love them. Over the years of offering our home and our hearts to rats in need we came to a realization. There are simply too many rats around with poor health and poor temperments, all linking back to careless breeding practices. It wasn't fair to the people that wanted a loving pet and were left with expensive vet bills, and heartbreak and it wasn't fair to the rats either.
So, we decided to shift our focus to breeding rats to the standard that people, and the rats themselves deserve.
Over the years, we educated ourselves about the genetics behind our favourite small pets, and we are helping better our rats, one small step at a time.
